  9. "AION" 2017

The work is a collage of moving images and audio voices.

‘White matter’ is about sexual identity and the unresolvable conflict
between physical attraction and moral concepts.

“I honestly started questioning myself: how tolerant am I?
That led me to the confronting topic of sexual attraction towards children.
I  feel the tragic of the impossibility to find an equal sexual partner.
Everyone feels the need for physical contact and what is a life without it?
But at the same time I am aware of the oppressive feeling
that the whole topic evokes in me. Children are seen as the innocent beings
in our society. We feel the strong need to protect them.
And maybe we want to know that at some point
we might have been innocent ourselves, and protect that innocence.

During my research I became aware that paedophilia is something that
has always existed and will always exist, everywhere. I wanted to be not
judgemental in my work but be really open for the difficult situation of
those who feel attracted to children.
Many are only children themselves when they first find out about their
feelings towards even younger boys or girls. That showed me that there
is an overlapping grey zone, no black and white. Our identityis something
very complex, it´s moving and changing in time. “

Whats the ugliest part of your body?
    Frank Zappa

    What's the ugliest
    Part of your body?
    What's the ugliest
    Part of your body?
    Some say your nose
    Some say your toes
    (I think it's your mind)
But I think it's YOUR MIND
    (Your mind)
I think it's your mind, woo woo

    ALL YOUR CHILDREN ARE POOR
    UNFORTUNATE VICTIMS OF
    SYSTEMS BEYOND THEIR CONTROL
A PLAGUE UPON YOUR IGNORANCE & THE GRAY
    DESPAIR OF YOUR UGLY LIFE

    Where did Annie go
    When she went to town?
    Who are all those creeps
    That she brings around?

    ALL YOUR CHILDREN ARE POOR
UNFORTUNATE VICTIMS OF LIES YOU BELIEVE
A PLAGUE UPON YOUR IGNORANCE THAT KEEPS
THE YOUNG FROM THE TRUTH THEY DESERVE . . .
